I love helping people develop beautiful, healthy smiles that improve their self-esteem and confidence. While seeing a person’s finished smile is wonderful, getting to know that person throughout treatment, and becoming their friend, makes the happy smile mean so much more to me.
At age 12 I knew I wanted to be an orthodontist: I had braces and the change they made in how I felt about myself was indescribable. I knew I needed to share that experience with others. After many rewarding years in practice, I’m grateful for having met and helped so many wonderful people. When a patient goes from being embarrassed by their crooked teeth to smiling and laughing with pride, I know I’ve done my job well. I’m blessed to have such a fulfilling job!
EDUCATION AND CONTINUING EDUCATION
All of my higher education has focused on oral healthcare. I attended Fairleigh Dickinson University for my Associate’s degree, my Registered Dental Hygienist degree, and my Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD). I then attended New York University, where I completed my Orthodontic Training.
Keeping up with the latest advances in orthodontics is important to me. My highest priority is being able to offer my patients the very best treatment. In order to do that, I must stay current with the most comfortable and efficient methods. My continuing orthodontic education includes attending local and national conferences in order to learn from the leading experts.
I grew up in Bergen County, NJ. Monroe Township is now my home and I’m proud to be raising the light of my life, my daughter Izabella, here. Our family also includes our sweet dog, Lola. When I’m not caring for patients, studying the latest developments in orthodontics, or enjoying time with Izabella, I stay busy. I enjoy shopping, the theater, dancing, and listening to all kinds of music. I love watching sports, especially football and baseball, and am a huge Yankees fan!
PART OF OUR COMMUNITY
I am glad to participate in Career Day at Applegarth School and speak at Oak Tree and Mill Lake schools during Dental Health Month. It’s fun to teach children about oral hygiene and inspire them to take care of their smiles! I also volunteer for various activities with Nativity of the Lord Church, along with the JRDF Walk-a-Thon and Make-a-Wish Foundation. I love it!
I consider myself fortunate in that every moment of my life is spent with people I care about.

Hello and welcome to Monroe Orthodontics! I’m looking forward to meeting you and your family. I love building friendships and watching each person transform as they get their new smile. The day your braces come off, I’ll be celebrating with you! Working at our front desk, I answer the phones, schedule visits, handle filing, and will help you with paperwork. My most important duty – outside of making you feel welcome – is baking cookies for you!
My husband and I have been married for more than 20 years. We have two really great kids, a son and daughter, both currently in college. We also have two dogs, Max and Tobi. My favorite pastimes are traveling and dancing.
Hi and welcome! I’m really looking forward to learning about you as a person. Hearing about your day, sharing stories, and laughing together will be the highlight of our time together. It’s amazing to be part of transforming smiles: I’m looking forward to helping you transform yours! During visits, I’ll assist Dr. Leiva chairside, as well as work on patients, changing your colors and wires or taking your impressions. I’ll also take your photos, X-rays, and models, and make your retainers to keep your finished smile perfectly beautiful.
I’m proud to be a lifelong resident of Monroe. I graduated from Monroe High School in 2002 and love helping my friends and neighbors develop their best smiles. I’m happily married and have two beautiful children.
Hi! I’m excited to meet you and learn about your life. Each of our patients is important to me and you will be, too. I’ll love watching you gain self-esteem and confidence as you see your new smile develop. When you’re finished and have the smile of your dreams, I’ll be cheering for your accomplishment! You’ll meet me when you arrive: I’ll greet and check you in, help you schedule visits, and check you out when done. My most important task during the day? Making our famous chocolate chip cookies!
My husband and I have been married for almost 30 years. We have two beautiful children, Michael and ToniAnn, as well as an energetic Goldendoodle, Giacomo.
